The bottom of the XL dog kennel has reinforced feet. This keeps the floor of the kennel off the ground, protecting it from moisture and wood rot. Keeping the floor of the kennel off the ground also provides added comfort to your dog by protecting it against cold and wetness and allowing fresh air to flow through the ventilated floor panels.

To keep the cold air out, we added a thick plastic wind protector to the door. The plastic is very durable and securely fastened to the top of the kennel. It’s also very easy to keep clean. Just spray it with some water and wipe it down with a towel.

Like our other kennels, the XL dog kennel is built from solid Fir wood. This is what gives the kennel its beautiful knotty look. Fir wood also helps us provide you with a durable kennel that’s strong and secure. To ensure your dog gets years of use out of the kennel, we take the time to dry the wood with a hot air dryer. This makes the wood less susceptible to mildew, wood rot, and damage from insects. We also apply several layers of a weather-resistant stain to protect the wood from moisture and heat.
